How To Edit Wedding Photos

As a photo editing service, we provide wedding and portrait photographers with fast, personalized, and consistent editing services. Though we believe in outsourcing what you don’t have time to do, we know that having knowledge about the absolute best editing techniques can be valuable for you. Because we are a company that specializes in editing wedding photos, we have gathered our top tips for editing techniques that can help transform your images.

1.         Eliminate Haze

The dehaze tool (in Lightroom) provides an easy way for you to even out light quality in images that seem hazy. Other reasons you might want to eliminate haze in your wedding include: creating sharp lines and clear subjects, enhancing saturated colors, and boosting the image’s structure. We recommend familiarizing yourself with the dehaze slider bar so you understand how it works. Get creative and try experimenting with it!

2.         Noise

A common issue that can happen to your images that often needs adjusting is noise, which is the discoloration of an image. One way to tell if your photo has noise is when you zoom in, the image appears pixelated. Noise often occurs in images that are shot in low light with high iso. As a wedding photographer, you can imagine that there are plenty of scenarios in which this might occur. It’s important to remember to shoot in RAW to ensure you have the highest quality images. Also, make sure to adjust color noise before adjusting the luminance noise and zoom in on each image while doing so, so you can have more control of the affects.

3.        Spot Removal

Weddings are unpredictable by nature and unwanted things can sometime end up in your shots. The Spot Removal tool in Lightroom provides the option to clone or heal some of the areas of an image that needs to be fixed. There are many issues that can occur that would require the use of this tool as a solution. Here are some common instances you might want to use the Spot Removal Tool for: eliminating unwanted objects or subjects, clean up stray hairs, adjusting skin blemishes, remove distractions in the background, erasing crumbs or stains on clothing, getting rid of specks of dust on the camera sensor.

4.       Removing Glasses Glare

Many are familiar with removing glare in Photoshop, but since our services are primarily Lightroom-based, we are going to dive into how it works in Lightroom. There are different techniques to remove glare from glasses. The best way is to use the Spot Removal Tool. Keep in mind this a delicate process because you are working in a smaller area, you have much less room for error. Some key things to remember when using this tool to remove glasses glare are: use a small brush, take your time, stop to check your work.
